I HATE FEDERER

Sunday, January 31, 2010

This post has been written just after the victory of Roger federer against Andy Murray in the Australian Open Final 2010.
God! Another federer victory at the championship finals. I am really fed up. Now you will be thinking why I hate federer. Well he is probably the greatest tennis player of the Open era, records glorying his feet. And yeah he has got most no. of grand slams (16 to be precise), has most no. of Wimbledon and most no. of consecutive US open, most no. of days at the top of the ranking and etc. etc.
But his perfection makes me dislike him( I might be jealous). He looks like a well oiled infallible machine, churning out heavy ground strokes and delightful one handed back hand shots at a boring repetition. There’s nothing fancy in his approach and personality but dull perfection brought by hard labor and some in born talent. Time after time he will produce an ace or a winner or make the opponent to commit an unforced error by his unforced error. After earning each point there would be a slight glance to his opponent saying “yeah! I am perfect!”. He seems to play each match as if he is destined to win.
Whom do you support when Australia plays England in cricket? I know England because you are tired watching the aussies win. Similarly I am tired of seeing federer win. I wanna see players rated underdogs overcoming odds and scripting fairytale victories. I wanna see guys commiting errors and then producing some miraculous shots to win. I want players showing emotions, pumping fists like a John McEnroe and Rafael Nadal or showing outburst like a Marat Safin. I wanna see colorful characters like Wilfred Tsonga, Patrick Rafter and Andre Agassi not someone like federer. I wanna see a Spaniard bull like approach running for each ball as his life depends on it wearing sleeveless Tees showing bulging muscles.
I had my hopes rested firmly on Nadal. Nadal is federer’s nemesis.
The following is a breakdown of their head-to-head results:
• All Matches: Nadal 13-7
• All Finals: Nadal 11–5
• Grand Slams: Nadal 6–2
• Grand Slam Finals: Nadal 5–2
• Masters Cup: Federer 2–0
• Masters Series: Nadal 6–3
• Masters Series Finals: Nadal 5–3
Nadal broke his 5 consecutive wimbledon’s dream, winning French open’s dream for a long time. He in fact humiliated him in the French open. But when everything seemed fine and federer was frustrated and almost on verge of retiring, Nadal got injured and to my horror federer came back.
I don’t consider federer is great till he conquers his nemesis Nadal as Bjorn Borg did to McEnroe, Sampras did to Agassi. When federer will conquer Nadal, then only I will say
“HAIL federer!!!”
Till then
“ I HATE federer”

n btw, i forgot to mention the best thing to watch in Federer's match----- Mirka Federer

hey i too was very delighted when Nadal defeated federer last year in Australian Open. I remember when Federer could not resist sobbing and Rafael accompanied him to the dias. I can't forget that moment. And yes there can't be more fun than beating the numero uno !

I m also a big fan of RAFAEL. hum dono "bhai bhai "

Only champ whom i still wish to win is Sachin. I don't know why..??

Well-written,Bitanshu.
I am a aworn hater of Roger Federer.I truly feel that he has usurped many titles which he didn't deserve even a little bit.
What has Federer done till date?
Just made a killing out of defeating Andy roddick. My heart cries out for Roddick. He is far more talented than Federer.
I hate Federer's styleof play. One of the most ugliest styles-singlehanded backhand coupled with a mad rush to the net to volley, only to offer a glimpse of his ugly hairy chest.I get sick on seeing his ugly face in the Rolex watch advertisements.
One primary reason why I hate Federer was because of his behaviour and conduct after losing Australian Open,2009 to his Great Nemesis. His fans hail him as a fantastic ambassador of this sport and call him a "Champion."Hypocrites and sick, all of them.
They should look at themselves in the mirror and ask this question to themselves-Is it perfect of a "Champion" to shed tears in public after losing a final and instead of appreciating his conqueror preferring to hog the limelight of the victor by those cheap antics?Yes,I call it cheap, beacuse one who doesn't know how to take victory and defeat with equal ease doesn't deserve to be a Sportsman in the first place, let alone a Tennis player.
why is Sport called Sport?Because it involves spirit of Sportsmanship, which is nothing but acknowledgement of the simple fact that one can be outplayed in all fairness by his opponent.
Did Federer display it?No.Instead,he prefeered to utter the following words-Oh God!It's killing me.
Are these the words of a champion?Do real sportsmen react like this?In fact, should any person react like this who calls him a Sportsman?
What Federer did was shameful and the whole Presentation Ceremony reflected in the most naked form the psyche of Federer. When he wins titles, things are hunky dory. When he doesn't and lose, things aren't.He simply thinks of himself as the best. The Presentation Ceremony brought out the nasty side of Federer, which he so skillfully conceals before the outside world in the garb of promoter of peace and harmony-the dimension of jealousy and being a sore loser.
That day,I lost whatever trifle respect I had for him.
He is the worst possible advertisement for any sport. An outright shameless, sore, jealous loser who would have no words of appreciation for his conquerors when he loses to them.
Federer's ugly side was brought forth by the Spaniard. So,the Spaniard is great for not only defeating Federer on all three surfaces-Grass,Clay and Hard but because he managed to do something which other players couldn't and probably wouldn't have been able to do ever-expose Federer in his true colours, bring out the real Federer who resides in the darkest recesses of his own demonic mind.
This is the Spaniard's biggest achievement. No one would easily forget the Presentation Ceremony of Australian Open,2009.Rightly,no one should.
